Solidus is a communications company owned and operated by Catherine Jenkins. She has been writing for over thirty years (seriously for over ten) and working as a professional editor since 2000. Her poetry has been published in numerous journals in Canada and the UK and she has toured extensively, performing over seventy-five readings in thirty centres in Canada and the US. As well as her first collection of poetry, blood love & boomerangs, and her novel, Swimming in the Ocean, both from Insomniac Press, she has written a screenplay and novel entitled Pairs & Artichoke Hearts and a book of photos and text entitled Charlie & Moon & Skye & I. She's currently compiling a second collection of poetry, working on her third novel and completing a non-fiction project. In these workshops, Catherine sees herself as a facilitator, bringing together creative minds to help inspire each other. She's also a resource, a brain to be picked, for practical and technical writing concerns. Catherine holds an Honours B.A. in Philosophy and Cultural Studies, as well as an M.A. in Methodologies for the Study of Western Culture and History, both from Trent University in Peterborough. She lives in Toronto's Annex neighbourhood where she runs a freelance editing business as Solidus Communications.
